FAQs

When do I book an appointment?

Stress, life challenges are everyday phenomenon. We often deal with these through effective decision making, learning from great personalities or from our own past. The moment these strategies and learning fall short and something feels too overwhelming to deal with all by ourselves, when all we need is an unconditional yet informed ear to feel listened to, we can see a mental health professional.

Is self-care necessary?

Yes. We live a life for others, often keeping our own needs aside, not caring about how happy or at peace we are. We understand, being functional and productive is the goal of life. But to have a quality added to the process, it is important to keep some time for things we love, to reflect upon the journey that we are making, to love, to forgive, to show gratitude. Besides having a balanced diet, some form of physical activity, proper sleep, it is important to consciously choose actions that are good for our emotional wellbeing as well.

Is therapy only for mentally ill?

Not at all. Therapy and counselling aim at holistic development of an individual by increasing self-awareness, emotional regulation, managing interpersonal relationships to ensure a positive growth. A session can include any important decision making, talking about any life event, addressing to feelings like anger, stress, anxiety. These also may include concerns related to trauma, career development, alcohol dependence, weight management, pain management and anything-everything.

How does a therapy session usually look like?

Usually, it starts with introduction from both the client and the therapist. There is an exchange of knowledge that follows regarding the concern, its possible causes of generation, exploration of patterns in thought, belief system and their relationship with behavior. The process includes working towards resolution of any concerning issues and the ability to take informed decisions. We become more equipped at ensuring our wellbeing and be more creative, productive and happy using various therapeutic techniques.
